PENA – Seorang remaja berusia 15 tahun tewas setelah menabrak truk boks. Kejadiaan naas itu terjadi pada Kamis (25/2) sekira pukul 16.20 WIT sore tadi, tepat di depan pangkalan ojek putus-putus, Kelurahan Ubo-Ubo, Kota Ternate.
Kejadian lakalantas itu bermula ketika korban, MST, yang mengenderai sepeda motor Honda Beat dengan nomor polisi DG 3784 KG melaju dari arah Barat menuju ke Timur. Sesampainya di pertigaan Kelurahan Ubo-Ubo, tepat di pangkalan ojek putus-putus, sebuah mobil boks berpelat DG 8142 UW yang dikendarai BE berpapasan dengan korban.
Korban lalu hilang kendali dan tidak dapat mengendalikan kendaraannya. Alhasil, korban pun langsung menabrak mobil tersebut dan terseret. Korban sempat dilarikan ke rumah sakit, karena mengalami luka sobek di kepala dan wajah.
“Korban mengalami pendarahan yang cukup banyak, dan akhirnya tewas ketika berada di rumah sakit,” kata Kasat Lantas Polres Ternate, AKP Setiaji N. Atmojo melalui Kanit Laka Lantas, Ipda Mahfud Umagapi.
Mahfud bilang, sebelum menabrak mobil truk, korban sempat ditegur oleh beberapa orang yang pada saat itu berada di pangkalan ojek. “Mereka sempat bilang ke korban agar bawa motor pelan-pelan saja, tapi korban tidak menghiraukan dan dari situlah korban menabrak mobil boks,” ujarnya.
Saat ini petugas kepolisian dari Satuan Lalulintas Polres Ternate telah melakukan evakuasi dan olah TKP. (nda)
