PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Ratusan Mahasiswa di Kota Ternate menggelar aksi terkait kenaikan harga Bahan Bakar Minyak (BBM), Kamis (7/4).
Mereka yang tergabung dalam aksi tersebut yakni Kesatuan Aksi Mahasiswa Muslim Indonesia (KAMMI) Daerah Ternate, Gerakan Mahasiswa Kristen Indonesia (GMKI) Cabang Ternate, dan Pergerakan Mahasiswa Islam Indonesia (PMII) Cabang Ternate.
Aksi tersebut awalnya dilaksanakan di depan SPBU Kelurahan Salero, kemudian bergeser ke Pasar Bahari Berkesan, dan berakhir di di depan kantor Wali Kota Ternate.
Aksi tersebut awalnya berjalan damai dan tertib. Namun berselang beberapa lama kemudian, terjadi saling dorong dengan pihak keamanan hingga berkahir ricuh. Dua orang pendemo dari PMII diamankan polisi lantaran dianggap provokator.
Ketua PMII Cabang Ternate, Alfian, kepada sejumlah wartawan meminta Kapolres Ternate untuk membebaskan dua sahabat yang ditangkap dengan alasan provokator dan alasan pemukulan terhadap oknum polisi.
“Padahal kami hanya melakukan aksi damai dan tidak melakukan provokator apapun. Atas inisiden ini, kami mengecam keras tindakan kepolisian,” ujarnya.
Pihaknya akan melakukan negosiasi dengan pihak kepolisian untuk membebaskan sahabat-sahabat yang dianggap provokator, meskipun faktanya tidak demikian. Jika kedua pendemo tidak dibebaskan lebih dari 24 jam, PMII akan menggalang kader-kader untuk memboikot kantor Polres Ternate.
“Aksi yang digelar sore ini terkait dengan meroketnya harga bahan bakar minyak (BBM) dan target aksi hari ini adalah hearing terbuka dengan pemerintah, dan isu ini harus terpublikasi,” tuturnya. (tan/ask)
