PENAMALUT.COM, JAILOLO – Badan Pengawasan Obat dan Makanan (BPOM) Provinsi Maluku Utara bersama Dinas Perindagkop dan UKM Kabupaten Halmahera Barat melakukan uji lab terhadap bahan pangan yang diduga berbahaya di Pasar Akelamo, Kecamatan Sahu Timur, Halbar.
Ketua Tim Pengujian Disperindagkop dan UKM Halbar, Ranward Ngitu saat ditemui wartawan, Senin (6/6) kemarin mengatakan, dalam pelaksanaan pengujian ini didampingi oleh BPOM dan petugas Pasar Akelamo.
Kegiatan ini dilakukan itu pada Jumat (3/6) pekan kemarin sebagai bagian dari rangkaian pelatihan fasilitator pasar pangan berbasis komunitas dari BPOM Malut.
Sebelum melakukan pengujian pangan dan produk olahan yang diduga mengandung bahan berbahaya, tim lebih dulu mengidentifikasi pedagang dan menginventarisir pangan dan produk olahan yang diduga mengandung bahan berbahaya yang selanjutnya dilakukan sampel dan pengujian secara cepat.
Selain itu, identifikasi pedagang dan inventarisir pangan dan produk olahan dilakukan secara acak pada beberapa kios dan Pasar Akelamo.
Kegiatan ini sangat penting dilakukan untuk memastikan pangan dan produk olahan yang dijual di Pasar Akelamo tidak mengandung bahan berbahaya, seperti boraks, formalin, rhodamin b, dan methanil yellow yang tentunya tidak bisa dikonsumsi oleh manusia.
“Jadi dari hasil pengujian, tim tidak menemukan bahan berbahaya dan dinyatakan negatif. Sehingga kami menyimpulkan pangan dan produk olahan di Pasar Akelamo bebas dari bahan berbahaya. Namun pengujian dengan metode ini tentunya ada kelemahan, karena idealnya seluruh produk harus diuji,” tukasnya. (adi/ask)
