Sampah di Terminal Gamalama Memprihatinkan

PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Kondisi sampah di areal terminal Gamalama Kota Ternate sangat memprihatikan.

Pasalnya, sampah di areal tersebut menumpuk hingga dikeluhkan pengunjung. Bahkan, tumpukan sampah tersebut juga menimbulkan bau tak sedap.

Amatan Nuansa Media Grup (NMG) di lapangan, berbagai jenis sampah plastik menumpuk di areal tempat naik turun penumpang angkutan kota (angkot).

“Sampah ini sering diangkut oleh petugas. Hanya saja, kalau sudah siang atau sore seperti ini sudah pasti sampah menumpuk. Ini karena kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat sekitar dan minimnya tempat sampah di terminal,” tutur salah satu sopir angkot, Jojo, Sabtu (6/8).

Menurutnya, terminal Gamalama mestinya tidak dijadikan sebagai tempat sampah. Jika hendak membuang sampah, kata dia, mestinya petugas Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) menyiapkan bak sampah dan tidak diletakan di areal terminal.

“Petugas harus mencari solusi agar sampah ini tidak ada di areal terminal, minimal harus di luar terminal. Karena yang berkunjung ke pasar ini bukan hanya warga Ternate, tetapi di luar dari Maluku Utara. Ini akan mengurangi nilai estetika kota,” katanya.

Karena itu, ia berharap ada kesadaran dari semua pihak yang menyambangi terminal Gamalama.

“Semoga ada inovasi dan terobosan baru dari Pemerintah Kota Ternate, agar kota yang kita cintai ini jauh dari segala penyakit, terutama soal sampah yang sering kita temui di ruas jalan,” harapnya. (tan)
