PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Muhammad Kasim alias Upi, Narapidana (Napi) Kelas IIA Ternate yang kabur pada Selasa (24/8) dinihari kemarin akhirnya ditangkap.
Terpidana kasus pencurian dan pembunuhan ini diamankan warga Tafraka, Kecamatan Pulau Hiri, Kota Ternate, Rabu (25/8) tadi.
Informasi diamankannya warga binaan yang sempat menjadi DPO Lapas Ternate ini lewat unggahan salah satu pengguna media sosial di facebook.
Kalapas Kelas IIA Ternate, Maman, membenarkan penangkapan buronan DPO ini.
“Iya betul. Masyarakat Pulau Hiri menemukan orang yang tidak dikenal terus dilaporkan ke pemerintah setempat dan langsung dimanankan,” kata Maman saat dihubungi wartawan, tadi.
Menurutnya, saat ini tim Lapas Ternate sudah menuju ke Pulau Hiri untuk menjemput warga binaan yang melarikan diri itu.
“Tim sudah menuju ke lokasi untuk mengamankan warga binaan yang kabur itu,” uajrnya singkat.
Sekadar diketahui, terpidana Upi melarikan diri dengan memanjat tembok Lapas setelah melakukan pengrusakan gembok kamar yang dihuni bersama Bayu salah satu Napi kasus narkotika.
Keduanya hendak melarikan diri. Beruntung Bayu berhasil ditangkap. Sementara Upi berhasil lolos hingga diamankan warga Hiri. (red)
