PENAMALUT.COM, JAILOLO – Sampah berserakan di kawasan pasar Akelamo, Jailolo, Kabupaten Halmahera Barat, dibiarkan begitu saja.
Hal ini ditemukan Gerakan Mahasiswa Kristen Indonesia (GMKI) Halbar saat melakukan bakti sosial pembersihan sampah di sejumlah kawasan di Kota Jailolo dalam rangka memperingati Hari Peduli Sampah Nasional (HPSN), Senin (21/2) tadi.
Dalam kegiatan bersih-bersih sampah itu, GMKI dan OSIS SMA Kristen Dian menemukan banyak sampah yang berserakan di area Pasar Akelamo dan juga limbah pasar yang tidak terurus hingga menimbulkan bau busuk.
Ketua Cabang GMKI Jailolo, Fandi Salasa kepada wartawan mengatakan, sampah yang berserakan dan juga limbah pasar ikan yang sangat mengganggu pengunjung pasar itu harus menjadi perhatian pemerintah setempat dalam hal ini Dinas Perkim dan Lingkungan Hidup.
“Padahal ini ada pungutan pembayaran retribusi sampah yang dilakukan oleh Dinas Lingkungan Hidup sebesar Rp 10.000 setiap bulannya, tapi kenapa kinerja dari dinas tidak begitu maksimal dalam penanggulangan sampah,” cecarnya.
Dia menyebut Dinas Perkim dan Lingkungan Hidup hanya mengutamakan pembayaran yang dibebankan kepada para penjual.
Sampah harusnya menjadi program prioritas dari Dinas Perkim dan Lingkungan Hidup untuk bagaimana merawat lingkungan tetap terjaga dan sehat bagi lingkungan sekitar.
Untuk itu, pihaknya meminta Pemda Halbar dalam hal ini Dinas Perkim dan Lingkungan Hidup agar bergerak cepat dalam menanggulangi permasalahan sampah ini. (adi/ask)
