Turnamen Sepak Bola GMKI CUP I Resmi Dihelat

PENAMALUT.COM, TOBELO – Turnamen sepak bola Gerakan Mahasiswa Kristen Indonesia (GMKI) CUP I resmi dihelat.

Pembukaan tersebut berlangsung di Gelora Universitas Halmahera (Unera), Rabu (5/10) sore tadi.

Perebutan piala GMKI CUP I ini dibuka oleh Senior GMKI, Abner Nones secara simbolis yang ditandai dengan aksi penendangan bola ke gawang.

Abner berharap agar selama pertandingan berjalan, seluruh tim dapat mengedepankan sportifitas dan persahabatan.

“Saya berharap, melalui pertandingan ini nilai-nilai persaudaraan semakin tertanam dalam kehidupan berolahraga, terlebih khusus pada dunia sepak bola. Selain itu, semua tim yang akan bertanding pada GMKI CUP I dapat menjunjung tinggi sportifitas dan persahabatan,” harap Abner dalam sambutannya.

Sementara itu, Ketua Panitia Pelaksana GMKI CUP I, Arki Yanto Hakuta, saat dikonfirmasi wartawan Nuansa Media Grup (NMG) usai pembukaan mengaku bahwa pelaksanaan GMKI CUP I ini dalam rangka menggalang dana persiapan Natal GMKI se-Wilayah Maluku Utara.

“Pertandingan ini sebagai bagian penggalangan dana untuk perayaan Natal Kristus yang dilaksanakan oleh GMKI se-Maluku Utara,” katanya.

Karena itu, pihaknya berharap, agar tim-tim sepak bola terbaik yang berada di Halmahera Utara dapat berpartisipasi melalui dengan mendaftarkan tim mereka.

Diketahui, pada acara pembukaan GMKI CUP tersebut, semua peserta sejenak menghening untuk mendoakan para korban dalam tragedi Kanjuruhan, usai pertandingan antara Arema vs Persebaya. (sef/tan)
