PENAMALUT.COM, JAKARTA – Partai Demorkat sejak awal secara tegas menolak sistem Pemilihan Umum (Pemilu) tertutup proporsional.
Penegasan tersebut disampaikan Ketua Umum Partai Demokrat, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) pada pertemuan para pimpinan partai politik terkait wacana sistem Pemilu tertutup proporsional.
“Kami Partai Demokrat sejak awal menolak dengan tegas wacana sistem Pemilu tertutup proporsional,” tegas AHY, Minggu (8/1), di Hotel Dharmawangsa.
“Sekali lagi kami menolak sistem Pemilu tertutup proporsional, sehingga pertemuan hari ini menjadi penting. Kami mengapresiasi dan mendukung agar pembahasan tentang isu-isu kebangsaan seperti ini juga bisa kita lakukan dari waktu ke waktu,” sambungnya.
Pertama, jangan sampai ada hak rakyat dalam kehidupan demokrasi ini yang dirampas. Jika terjadi sistem pemilu tertutup, maka rakyat tidak bisa memilih secara langsung wakil-wakil rakyatnya. Padahal semua berkeinginan menggunakan haknya dan tidak seperti membeli kucing dalam karung.
“Tentu kita berharap pada saatnya para wakil rakyat dan pemimpin yang terpilih benar-benar yang bisa membawa perubahan dan perbaikan,” ujarnya.
AHY berharap sistem terbuka proporsional bisa tetap dijalankan sesuai dengan Undang-undang (UU) yang berlaku hari ini serta bisa menyambut pesta demokrasi pemilu 2024 dengan seksama dan berjalan dengan baik.
Kedua, secara internal partai politik juga perlu menjaga semangat yang tinggi dari seluruh kadernya, dengan sistem pemilu terbuka proporsional tentu diharapkan setiap kader partai politik juga punya ruang dan peluang yang adil.
“Jangan sampai mereka yang berjibaku, berusaha, berjuang untuk mendapatkan suara kemudian rontok semangatnya karena berubah sistem. Kita ingin sekali lagi, yang terbaiklah yang bisa membawa aspirasi masyarakat luas,” tutur AHY.
Sekadar diketahui, ketum partai politik lain yang menghadiri pertemuan tersebut adalah Ketum Partai Golkar Airlangga Hartarto, Ketum PKB Muhaimin Iskandar, Ketum PKS Ahmad Syaikhu dan Ketum PAN Zulkifli Hasan. Sedangkan Partai Nasdem diwakili oleh Sekjen Jhonnh G. Plate dan PPP diwakili oleh Waketum Amir Uskara. (gon/ask)
