PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Kepolisian Daerah (Polda) Maluku Utara (Malut), Jumat (6/8) tadi, memberikan bantuan sosial (Bansos) kepada masyarakat di Kota Ternate yang terdampak Pemberlakuan Pembatasan Kegiatan Masyarakat (PPKM).
Bantuan yang diberikan Polda Malut melalui Direktorat Intelkam tersebut dengan menggandeng para pengurus Pimpinan Cabang Ikatan Mahasiswa Muhammadiyah (IMM) Kota Ternate.
Sebanyak 100 paket bantuan diberikan untuk pekerja yang dirumahkan, masyarakat kurang mampu, dan karyawan swasta yang tengah menjalani isolasi mandiri (Isoman).
Wakapolda Maluku Utara, Brigjen Pol Eko Para Setyo Siswanto dalam sambutannya mengimbau kepada seluruh masyarakat Kota Ternate, agar selalu mentaati Protokol Kesehatan (Prokes) yang telah ditetapkan oleh pemerintah.
Masih ada masyarakat, sambung Wakapolda, yang tidak percaya akan adanya virus corona dan dampaknya yang membahayakan kesehatan. Padahal menurut dia, virus corona itu ada dan terus bermutasi hingga muncul varian-varian baru.
“Golongan masyarakat masuk kategori masyarakat ‘sombong’. Data terakhir yang masuk ke saya, sebanyak 250 orang di Malut meninggal dunia akibat virus tersebut, dan ribuan orang terjangkit,” ungkap Wakapolda.
Untuk itu, Wakapolda mengatakan, dalam aktivitas keseharian dirinya selalu menggunakan masker sebanyak dua lapis. “Jika virus masih terus bermutasi, saya pakai tiga lapis,” katanya.
Bagi Wakapolda, kewajiban melakukan vaksinasi yang sekarang ini digalakkan pemerintah, baik pusat maupun daerah, masih sangat rendah.
“Kita yang ada di sini bukan orang sombong, karena percaya Covid-19 dengan memakai masker dan mau divaksin,” tambahnya.
Wakapolda sendiri mengaku sudah dua kali divaksin. Isoman juga sudah ia lakukan saat divonis terpapar dengan kategori orang tanpa gejala (OTG).
“Maka negara memanggilmu. Saya ajak generasi muda mari bersama-sama taat dan terus mengajak masyarakat akan pentingnya 5M,” pintanya.
Bagi dia, bantuan seperti yang dilakukan oleh Polda Malut sudah sering dilakukan oleh berbagai pihak. Baik yang dilakukan pemerintah, pihak swasta, maupun organisasi kemasyarakatan (Ormas).
“Mudah-mudahan bisa bermanfaat. Bansos ini tidak lain untuk mendukung pemerintah dalam membantu masyarakat, yang belum maksimal dalam kebutuhan sehari-hari,” pungkasnya. (*)
