PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Ribuan mahasiswa di Maluku Utara, hari ini Senin (11/4), turun ke jalan melakukan aksi menolak kenaikan harga bahan bakar minyak (BBM).
Aksi tersebut dilakukan secara serentak di sejumlah daerah di Malut. Tidak hanya aksi tolak kenaikan harga BBM, massa juga membawa sejumlah tuntutan terkait kebijakan pemerintah pusat yang dianggap tidak pro terhadap rakyat.
Di Kota Ternate, ratusan mahasiswa dari berbagai perguruan tinggi melakukan aksi di sejumlah kawasan perkotaan, yakni depan Kantor Wali Kota Ternate dan Bandara Baabullah. Mereka menolak kenaikan harga BBM dan sembako.
Menurut mereka, kenaikan harga BBM bersubsidi maupun sembako bakal mempengaruhi kelas menengah bawah terkait kebutuhan ekonomi masyarakat.
“Apalagi ini dalam suasana bulan suci Ramadan, tentu kebutuhan masyarakat terkait sembilan bahan pokok lebih meningkat,” teriak Tamrin, salah satu pendemo.
Di Ibu Kota Provinsi Maluku Utara, Sofifi, ratusan massa aksi gabungan mahasiswa dan irganisasi angkutan darat (Organda) mengepung kantor Gubernur dan DPRD Malut.
Koordinator aksi, Fikri Mustakim menyampaikan tujuan mereka mendatangi Kantor DPRD agar mendesak para wakil rakyat menandatangani petisi sembilan poin tuntutan terkait turunkan harga BBM, tolak kenaikan PPN, tingkatkan pengawasan distribusi BBM di Malut, pastikan stok sembako tetap stabil, tuntaskan pembangunan jalan Oba selatan, evaluasi KE IWIP, selesaikan pembayaran gaji guru honorer, tuntaskan jalan kelurahan Guruapin dan tolak revisi UU Sisdiknas.
Aksi juga terjadi Kabupaten Halmahera Utara. Aksi yang berlangsung di Kantor Bupati Halut itu sempat memanas lantaran terjadi saling dorong antada pendemo dan pihak keamanan hingga berujung pemukulan terhadap salah satu massa aksi.
Pada kesempatan itu, massa aksi meminta agar pemerintah memperhatikan nasib rakyat kecil. Sebab kenaikan harga BBM ini tentu mempengaruhi segala harga kebutuhan pokok.
“Harga angkota juga naik, begitu juga kebutuhan lainnya. Hal ini tentu sangat berpengaruh terhadap kebutuhan masyarakat, terutama masyarakat kalangan di bawah,” ujar koordinator akai, Rivaldo.
Aksi ini juga terjadi di Kabupaten Halmahera Selatan, Kota Tidore, dan beberapa daerah lainnya dengan tuntutan yang sama. (tim/ask)
