Lestarikan Sejarah, Alumni Australia Gelar Seminar Kepulauan Rempah

PENA – Alumni Monash University Australia, Roswita M. Aboe, menginisiasi sebuah proyek tentang kepulauan rempah dan pelestarian Benteng Oranje di Kota Ternate, Maluku Utara, sebagai sebuah pusaka yang dimilki oleh bangsa Indonesia.

Proyek ini didanai oleh Pemerintah Australia melalui skema hibah alumni Australia atau Australian Alumni Grant Scheme yang diatur oleh Australia Awards di Indonesia.

Roswita, yang saat ini merupakan pengajar di program studi pendidikan bahasa Inggris Universitas Khairun, bersama 25 peseeta lain yang tersebar di seluruh Indonesia berkesempatan memperoleh pembiayaan kegiatan ini. Nantinya proyek tersebut mengintegrasikan kerjasama di bidang pariwisata yang telah dijalin sejak 2017 antar institusi Unkhair-USC Australia dan Pemerintah Provinsi Maluku Utara.

“Kegiatan ini mengangkat tema sentral, Menjaga Sejarah Tetap Hidup. Kegiatan ini berupa rangkaian seminar dan workshop yang melibatkan peserta dari berbagai kalangan,” jelas Roswita dalam siaran pers yang diterima Penamalut, Kamis (25/2).

Peserta yang dilibatkan, lanjut Roswita, adalah dari asosiasi Pariwisata atau Himpunan Pramuwisata Indonesia Maluku Utara, komunitas pusaka seperti Ternate Heritage Society yang didiukung oleh Dinas Pariwisata, Dinas Kebudayaan Kota Ternate dan Balai Pelestarian Cagar Budaya Maluku Utara.

Rangkaian seminar dan lokakarya yang akan dibuat dalam kurun waktu satu tahun tersebut bertujuan untuk mengakomodir kebutuhan pemangku kepentingan lokal di Ternate hingga provinsi Maluku Utara tentang bagaimana sejarah kolonial dapat disajikan dan memberi makna pada sisa-sisa peninggalan pusaka yang masih ada.

“Benteng Oranje, sebagai pilot project yang dipilih, dengan maksud agar para pelaku pariwisata maupun komunitas dapat mengambil bagian untuk mengembangkan Maluku Utara sebagai destinasi wisata Pusaka, dan situs warisan kolonial,” jelas Roswita.

Selain itu, peserta kegiatan juga diharapkan mampu mengembangkan metodologi untuk menganalisis kekuatan dan kelemahan situs pusaka kepulauan rempah, dan juga cerita lokal, mengembangkan rencana kerja dengan tujuan SMART untuk diterapkan selama dan setelah krisis Covid-19.

Seminar perdana telah dilaksanakan secara daring 23 Ferbuari lalu, menghadirkan Professor RW Bill Carter dari University of the Sunshine Coast sebagai pembicara utama dan pembicara pendamping ialah Maulana Ibrahim, M.Eng., Ph.D. Maulana sendiri adalah dosen Fakultas Teknik Unkhair yang juga pengurus Ternate Heritage Society.

Sebelumnya, kegiatan ini telah dibuka melalui kick off meeting pada 26 Januari 2021 oleh Rektor Unkhair Prof. Dr. Husen Alting., SH.,MH. Turut memberi sambutan pada saat itu Kadis Pariwisata Kota Ternate, Dr. H. Rizal Marsaoly.,MM., Kadis Kebudayaan Kota Ternate Rinto Taib., M.Si, Kepala BCPB Maluku Utara Drs. Muhammad Husni., MM., Kris Syamsudin., S.Pi. yang mewakili Dinas Pariwisata Maluku Utara serta sejumlah peserta perwakilan HPI, THS, akademisi Unkhair dan UMMU, staf Dispar, Disbud dan BPCB. Sesi seminar lanjutan akan dilangsungkan berturut-turut setiap bulan. (*)
