PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Universitas Muhammadiyah Maluku Utara (UMMU) memasuki hari jadi yang ke 20 tahun pada 5 Juni nanti.
Untuk memperingatinya, panitia pelaksana telah menyiapkan sejumlah rangkaian kegiatan menyambut hari jadi tersebut.
Salah satu rangkaian kegiatannya adalah sunatan massal yang dilaksanakan pada Selasa (25/5) kemarin, bertempat di gedung Rektorat UMMU.
Ketua Panitia, Irman Mamulati, mengatakan kegiatan sunatan massal dengan sasaran anak-anak dari warga di sekitar Kampus UMMU, seperti Kelurahan Sasa, Jambula, Fitu, Gambesi serta anak-anak dari staf pegawai UMMU.
“Untuk sunantan massal ini diagendakan menjadi dua tahapan. Pertama pada tanggal 25 mei yang berlansung kemarin, sementara untuk tahap kedua akan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 8 Juni mendatang,” jelasnya.
Kegiatan ini, kata dia, merupakan bagian dari wujud Tridharma perguruan tinggi, yakni pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Selain itu, juga sebagai sarana menumbuh kembangkan kepedulian sosial antara sesama manusia.
“Tentunya dengan harapan besar sesuai tema Milad 2021 adalah Kiprah UMMU Menjemput Perubahan. Semoga di hari jadi ke 20 ini, UMMU semakin sukses dan maju,” harapnya menutup. (Red)
