PENAMALUT.COM, JAILOLO – Bupati Halmahera Barat, James Uang, merombak sejumlah pejabat pada eselon II, III dan IV di lingkup Pemkab Halbar.
Pelantikan puluhan pejabat yang dirombak itu dilakukan pada Senin (6/9) bertempat di Aula Kantor Bupati Halbar.
Dari puluhan pejabat yang dilantik itu, salah satunya adalah Harun Kasim. Putra asli Desa Bobanehena, Halbar, itu dilantik sebagai Sekretaris Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Dikbud) Halbar sekaligus dipercayakan oleh Bupati James Uang sebagai Pelaksana Tugas (Plt) Kadis Dikbud Halbar.
Harun Kasim sebelumnya menjabat Kepala Seksi Produksi Media Pembelajaran Balai Tekom pada Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Maluku Utara sejak tahun 2010 hingga 2019.
Sebelum menjadi kepala seksi di Dikbud Malut, ia lebih dulu dipercayakan menjabat Kepala Sekolah SMK Negeri 1 Halbar sejak tahun 2003 sampai 2010. Saat itu, ia bertekad menjadikan SMK Negeri 1 Halbar menjadi sekolah yang unggul dengan melahirkan banyak sumber daya manusia yang handal.
Upaya Harun menjadikan SMKN 1 Halmahera Barat masuk dalam sekolah bertaraf Nasional. Namun belum kesampaian niatnya, ia sudah pindahkan ke Dikbud Malut.
Harun kepada wartawan menyatakan siap menjalankan amanah yang diberikan. Ia berkomitmen untuk menjalankan program Bupati James Uang dan Wakil Bupati Djufri Muhammad dengan tagline Diahi.
“Seperti apa yang disampaikan Bupati kepada saya, maka saya akan mendiahi (memperbaiki) pendidikan di Halbar,” ujarnya.
Salah satu program yang bakal dilakukan adalah pemerataan guru untuk wilayah terpencil seperti di Kecamatan Loloda yang saat ini masih kekurangan guru.
Bahkan Harun melakukan merger terhadap sekolah-sekolah yang siswanya berjumlah di bawah 50 orang.
Begitu juga sekolah yang masih bisa dilalui lewat darat, misalnya kampung yang bertetangga, maka sekolah-sekolah tersebut berpeluang untuk dilakukan merger.
“Kami juga akan lakukan merger dengan mempertimbangkan jarak, terkecuali daerah-daerah seperti Kecamatan Loloda dan Loloda Tengah yang berada di pulau-pulau,” tuturnya.
Program merger ini, lanjut dia, dengan dua sekolah dijadikan satu, maka otomatis sekolah bisa kelebihan guru. Sehingga guru-guru dapat terdistribusi ke wilayah terpencil seperti Loloda.
“Jika tidak dilakukan seperti ini, maka jelas akan kekurangan guru. Saya sudah melihat data, ada sekolah di Loloda itu sampai kepala sekolahnya sendiri yang mengajar,” tukasnya.
Terkait siswa yang kesulitan belajar daring lantaran terkendala jaringan internet, Harun menyiapkan program dengan nama wifie masuk sekolah.
“Kami bakal bekerja sama dengan pusat data nasional, karena mereka punya program memasukkan wifie ke sekolah-sekolah. Sehingga sekolah di daerah-daerah terpencil itu dapat memanfaatkan internet untuk proses belajar-mengajar,” pungkasnya. (adi/ask)
