PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Prof. Saiful Deni kembali dilantik sebagai Rektor Universitas Muhammadiyah Maluku Utara (UMMU) untuk periode kedua.
Pelantikan ini berdasarkan Surat Keputusan (SK) 1860/KEP/1.0/D/2021 tentang pengangkatan Rektor Universitas Muhammadiyah Maluku Utara masa jabatan 2021-2025 yang berlangsung Kamis (18/12) tadi.
Prof. Saiful Deni yang ditemui usai pelantikan itu mengatakan, langkah yang akan dilakukan setelah dirinya dilantik adalah mengusulkan pergantian wakil rektor dan juga dekan-dekan untuk membantu rektor satu periode ke depan.
“Tentunya kami punya visi pusat pengembangan keilmuan berbasis dakwah kepulauan, tetapi nanti kolaborasi perguruan tinggi di Maluku Utara dan melalui kerja sama antara internal maupun eksternal,” ungkapnya.
Menurut Saiful, pada periode pertama, terdapat beberapa visi yang belum dicapai. Sehingga itu, pada periode kedua ini akan dikembangkan sebagai pemanfaatan seluruh potensi yang ada di Maluku Utara, terkait dengan program studi ke depan.
Sebanyak 18 program studi dan 9 fakultas yang dicapai UMMU. Ke depan juga akan dibuka program S2 untuk Pemerintahan, S2 Komunikasi, dan S2 Pendidikan.
“Tentu ini harus didukung berbagai Stakeholder di internal Muhammadiyah, mulai dari Warek sampai pada stafnya. Sehingga mengimplementasikan visi ini menjadi pusat pengembangan keilmuan yang jadi rill. Kami juga ditantang oleh Majelis Dikti Muhammadiyah terkait program kerja di akhir tahun 2025. Pada masa periode saya ini minimal menghasilkan 10 guru besar dan S3 menimal 45 orang,” ujarnya.
Dia mengaku sekarang ini sudah ada 40 calon S3. Dari sisi akademik, tentu ini dilakukan peningkatan lagi, terutama para dosennya.
Saiful menuturkan, dari 4.600 perguruan tinggi di Indonesia, pada tahun 2021 ini UMMU masuk pada urutan ke 562.
“Kita masuk klaster 3, seperti Unkhair. Tentu ini pekerjaan berat dan tantangan sangat luar biasa, jika kita sama-sama lakukan pasti akan dijalankan,” jelasnya. (udy/ask)
