PENAMALUT.COM, SANANA – Penyidik Polres Kepulauan Sula segera menggelar perkara atas kecelakaan laut tenggelamnya sebuah longboat di perairan Desa Paslal, Kecamatan Mangoli Tengah, Kabupaten Kepulauan Sula, Minggu (25/9) pekan kemarin.
Kapolres Kepulauan Sula, AKBP Cahyo Widyatmoko mengatakan, setelah kejadian tersebut, pemilik atau motoris longboat sempat diamankan di Mapolres untuk menghindari hal-hal yang tidak diinginkan. Akan tetapi, kata dia, hingga saat ini motoris longboat belum ditahan.
“Jadi nanti setelah dari hasil gelar barulah kita lihat, apakah yang bersangkutan ditetapkan tersangka atau seperti apa. Jika sudah, maka nanti kita sampaikan lebih lanjut,” kata Kapolres saat dikonfirmasi wartawan, Selasa (27/9) tadi.
Menurut Kapolres, motoris ini lalai dalam melakukan perjalanan laut antar pulau. Padahal polisi sudah mengingatkan kepada masyarakat bahwa setiap melakukan perjalan laut harus dilengkapi life jaket atau alat bantu renang.
“Mohon maaf masyarakat kita ini sering menggampangkan segala hal. Padahal nyatanya mereka tidak sadar bahwa itu sudah mengabaikan keamanan. Jadi kalau setiap kali melakukan penyeberangan tidak menggunakan pelampung, maka itu sudah masuk dalam tindakan yang lalai,” tuturnya.
Cahyo mengimbau kepada seluruh masyarakat Kepulaun Sula apabila melakukan perjalanan menggunakan transportasi, baik berupa speed boat maupun longboat agar meminta ke pemilik transportasi untuk memakai life jaket atau pelampung.
“Jika tidak ada perlengkapan seperti ini, segera pindah ke tranpsortasi lain. Kita ingin bagaimana mau bangun kesadaran masyarakat, karena menggunakan life jaket adalah salah satu upaya untuk menjamin keselamatan masyarakat itu sendiri,” pungkasnya.
Sekadar diketahui, dalam kecelakaan longboat ini mengakibatkan empat warga meninggal. Sementara lainnya luka-luka. (ish/ask)
