PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Ikatan Alumni Angkatan 85 Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) Negeri 1 Kota Ternate memperingati HUT ke-77. Kegiatan ini mengusung tema “Tetap Berprestasi dan Berinovasi di Era Globalisasi”.
HUT tersebut menggelar empat rangkaian kegiatan, yakni launching website SMP Negeri 1 Kota Ternate, peresmian papan nama sekolah penyelengara program inklusif dengan akreditasi A, Aula lama diberi nama Bangsal Tara No Ate, dan sosialisasi HIV Aids dari Badan Kependudukan Dunia (UNFPA) dari Yayasan Siklus Sehat Indonesia.
Ketua Ikatan Alumni SMP Negeri 1 Ternate, Arifin Djafar, mengatakan melalui HUT ke-77 ini, pihaknya mendorong pemberian nama pada sebuah aula tua menjadi cagar budaya yang berada di tengah komplek sekolah. Ini karena aula tersebut merupakan satu-satunya bangunan tua peninggalan kolonial Belanda yang masih tersisa dan layak digunakan.
“Bangunan itu selama ini disebut Bangsal. Sejak awal berdiri tidak pernah diberikan nama secara khusus sampai bertepatan dengan hari jadi sekolah yang ke-77 ini baru kemudian diberi nama Bangsal Tara No Ate,” ujarnya, Sabtu (7/1).
Arifin menerangkan, nama tersebut bermakna filosofis dan historis yang berarti turun dan merangkul. Tara No Ate sendiri adalah sebutan untuk Ternate kuno yang merupakan cikal bakal Ternate yang ada saat ini. Gagasan pemberian dan pemilihan nama aula tersebut adalah ide kreatif dari dirinya sendiri.
“Untuk itu, almamater harus menjadi contoh terbaik bagaimana proses pembelajaran semakin berpihak kepada murid dan memerdekakan guru untuk berkreasi dan berinovasi melalui kurikulum merdeka,” jelasnya.
Arifin berkata bahwa sebaik-baiknya alumni adalah yang berguna dan bermanfaat bagi almamaternya. Selain itu, pagelaran HUT SMPN 1 Ternate yang ke-77 berterima kasih kepada pihak sekolah dalam hal ini sangat responsif dan kolaboratif dengan kegiatan yang dilaksanakan.
Kepala SMP Negeri 1 Kota Ternate, Bustamin Hamzah, sangat mengapresiasi kegiatan yang digagas dan digelar oleh Alumni 85 SMP Negeri 1 Kota Ternate yang bekerja sama dengan pihak sekolah dalam menyukseskan acara HUT sekolah ke-77 tersebut.
“77 tahun adalah perjalanan panjang melaksanakan pembelajaran yang terbaik menciptakan generasi berprestasi akademik dan non akademik serta berkarakter. 77 tahun juga tak henti melakukan penyesuaian dinamika perkembangan pendidikan secara nasional global, dan di tahun 2021 menyandang predikat Sekolah Penggerak,” kata Bustamin.
“Semoga bertambahnya usia, sekolah ini tidak hanya sebagai tempat belajar dan menuntut ilmu, tapi juga sebagai tempat menempa akhlak yang baik untuk generasi bangsa yang cerdas akalnya dan baik budinya,” sambungnya berharap.
Wali Kota Ternate, M. Tauhid Soleman, yang turut hadir dalam kegiatan tersebut mengapresiasi Ikatan Alumni SMP negeri 1 Kota Ternate yang sukses menggelar HUT ke-77.
“Saya hadir karena rasa cinta sekolah ini. Jadi saya inginkan bahwa sekolah ini bisa membangun semacam mendirikan cagar budaya artinya ada sesuatu yang ditinggal di sini sehingga ada keunikan,” katanya.
Menurutnya, pada awal 70-an anak-anak muda sangat bergantung saat itu, sehingga pihaknya mendorong supaya ada keunikan sekolah berbasis budaya agar bisa membedakan dengan yang lain.
“Saya juga meminta pihak sekolah betul-betul agar lebih ekstra terkait dengan jam-jam sekolah, dan monitor keberadaan muridnya. Semestinya pihak sekolah dan Dinas Pendidikan mencoba membangun seperti ini, supaya bisa membangun reputasi yang sebelumnya agar terbaca, jangan sampai anak ini bolos. Bukan hanya monitor siswa SMPN 1 saja, tapi keseluruhan semua anak siswa yang ada di kota Ternate, karena ini menyangkut dengan ketertiban,” seru Wali Kota.
Selain itu, Kepala Sekolah juga membutuhkan perhatian untuk meningkatkan mutu guru meskipun secara sarana cukup signifikan. Namun ada tantangan karena berada di pusat ekonomi. Mutu pendidikan di Kota Ternate sudah baik. Secara sumber daya manusia lebih unggul, namun kelemahannya terletak di data. Karena itu perlu perbaikan terutama dari operator yang hendel dapodik itu.
