Dalam sejarah, kita telah menyaksikan banyak perubahan besar terjadi yang dipengaruhi oleh pendidikan, terutama pendidikan formal. Misalnya konsolidasi kemerdekaan Indonesia yang tidak terlepas dari sejarah mahasiswa, dan sebagai mahasiswa tentu pernah mengenyam jenjang pendidikan dasar dan menengah.
Sejarah kemerdekaan Indonesia juga tidak terlepas dengan peristiwa Hirosima dan Nagasaki. Dari peristiwa itu, dapat menjadi pelajaran berharga untuk kita dalam melihat potensi maju berkembangnya suatu Negara.
Pada peristiwa Hirosima-Nagasaki, Jenderal Hirohito terlebih dahulu bertanya tentang banyaknya guru yang masih hiudp, bukan banyaknya prajurit yang masih hidup. Padahal saat itu Negara-negara dunia dalam kondisi perang, sehingga yang harus dipertanyakan lebih dulu adalah persoalan pertahanan keamanan Negara.
Pertanyaan jenderal Hirohita mengenai jumlah guru yang masih hidup menjadi pelajaran penting, dan barangkali dari penghargaan yang besar terhadap guru itulah saat ini Jepang menjadi salah satu Negara maju di Dunia.
Jepang menjadi salah satu Negara yang pertumbuhannya terbilang cepat. Lalu bagaimana dengan Indonesia? Sebagai Negara dengan kekayaan sumber daya alam yang melimpah, seharusnya bisa lebih maju dari Negara lain. Jika saja sumber daya manusianya dapat diarahkan untuk mengelola kekayaan alam yang dimiliki dengan cara terbaik demi keadilan sosial bagi seluruh rakyatnya.
Untuk mencapai manusia terbaik dalam mengelola alam, maka pendidikan menjadi faktor penentu sebagai medium untuk membentuk watak dan kepribadian, mengembangkan kemampuan intelektual, dan mengasah keterampilan manusia Indonesia menjadi manusia yang diharapkan berdasarkan pada Ideologi Negara.
Pendidikan menjadi faktor penentu untuk menciptakan manusia yang diharapkan. Dalam UU Nomor 20 tahun 2003 tentang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional, tujuan Pendidikan adalah “Terbinanya potensi peserta didik menjadi manusia yang beriman, berilmu pengetahuan, berakhlak mulia, serta bertanggung jawab terhadap bangsa dan Negara”.
Dan untuk mencapai tujuan ini, kesejahteraan guru menjadi keharusan. Sehingga seorang guru tidak akan lagi berfikir dan bertanya mau makan apa besok?, melainkan yang menjadi fokus dari seorang guru adalah cara agar dapat mengembangkan potensi peserta didik secara seimbang berdasarkan ukuran Negara, dan senantiasa berikhtiar untuk membentuk insan pembaharu yang dapat pemimpin masa depan yang dipundak merekalah amanah kemerdekaan dapat dititipkan.
Pada beberapa hari yang lalu, Pemerintah Provinsi Maluku Utara mengambil kebijakan untuk memotong upah guru honorer yang katanya kebijakan itu berdasarkan pada keputusan Presiden. Sementara tenaga honorer juga sangat dibutuhkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dalam dunia pendidikan formal sebagai medium terpenting untuk membentuk generasi menjadi agen pembaharu.
Kebijakan ini barangkali berangkat dari paradigma pembangunan pemerintah yang seakan-akan memandang pembangunan yang sangat prioritas adalah pembangunan infrastruktur, sementara seprastruktur adalah hal kedua setelah infrastruktur terpenuhi.
Barangkali paradigma pembangunan kita harus diarahkan untuk menyeimbangkan antara infrastruktur dan suprastruktur. Semoga pemerintah dapat kembali melihat kebijakannya dalam memotong upah guru honorer dan semoga kedepannya kesejahteraan guru menjadi prioritas. (*)

I do love the manner in which you have presented this particular challenge and it does indeed supply us some fodder for consideration. Nonetheless, from everything that I have observed, I really wish when other responses pack on that individuals remain on point and in no way get started on a soap box regarding some other news of the day.
