PENAMALUT.COM, LABUHA – Kantor Unit Penyelenggara Pelabuhan (UPP) Kelas II Babang dilahap si jago merah.
Kebakaran terjadi pada Minggu (3/10/2021), sekira pukul 01.55 WIT malam tadi.
Penyebab sementara diduga korsleting listrik. Api yang berasal dari plafon ruang arsip langsung menjalar dan membakar sebagian isi ruang beserta dokumen arsip kapal.
Beruntung, satu buah unit pemadam kebakaran dengan cepat diterjunkan ke kantor yang beralamat di Desa Babang, Kecamatan Bacan Timur, Kabupaten Halmahera Selatan itu.
Informasi yang diterima, kejadian ini bermula ketika salah satu anggota piket, Imanuel Porniti, melihat adanya kobaran api yang keluar dari gudang kantor. Imanuel kemudian memanggil anggota piket lainnya dan buru pelabuhan untuk memadamkan api, serta mendobrak pintu gudang arsip yang terbakar dengan menggunakan alat seadanya.
Tak berselang lama, satu unit mobil pemadam kebakaran tiba di lokasi kejadian dan melakukan pemadaman. Api kemudian berhasil dipadamkan.
Kepala Kantor UPP Kelas II Babang, Rosihan Gamtjim menuturkan, kebakaran tersebut tidak ada korban jiwa.
Namun kebakaran tersebut menghanguskan satu buah lemari yang berisi arsip kantor dan arsip kapal beserta blanko, termasuk ratusan Blanko SPB.
“Untuk kerugian sementara kami belum bisa taksir, hanya ada sejumlah dokumen arsip kantor maupun kapal hangus terbakar,” jelasnya. (red)
