PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Perusahaan tambang dan hilirisasi terintegrasi HARITA Nickel melalui unit bisnisnya, Halmahera Persada Lygend (HPL), saat ini telah mengoperasikan lini produksi kedua di Pulau Obi, Halmahera Selatan, Provinsi Maluku Utara (Malut).
Lini produksi kedua ini dapat meningkatkan kapasitas produksi HPL menjadi 250 ribu ton per tahun campuran padatan hidroksida dari nikel dan kobalt (mixed hydroxide precipitate-MHP).
Lini produksi yang kedua HPL masih merupakan bagian dari fase pertama operasional. Rencananya pada kuartal kedua 2022, proyek lanjutan berupa pabrik nikel sulfat akan selesai dan dapat memproduksi nikel sulfat dan kobalt sulfat. Produk-produk ini merupakan bahan baku yang digunakan untuk baterai kendaraan listrik.
Head of External Relation HARITA Nickel, Stevi Thomas mengungkapkan, lini produksi pertama Halmahera Persada Lygend yang telah diresmikan pada Juni 2021 lalu telah beroperasi dengan baik dan menjadi produk ekspor andalan tanah air dan Malut.
“Sebanyak 5.300 ton MHP hasil pemurnian bijih nikel kadar rendah berhasil kami kapalkan akhir Juni lalu. Ini menjadi kebanggaan kita semua, khususnya Halsel dan Malut sebagai daerah yang pertama kali memproduksi dan mengekspor bahan baku baterai kendaraan listrik. Apa yang telah dilakukan HARITA melalui HPL telah menghasilkan devisa serta memberi nilai tambah yang berlipat ganda terhadap komoditas tambang tanah air,” ujar Stevi kepada wartawan, Kamis (16/12).
Ia melanjutkan, hingga akhir November 2021, HPL telah mengekspor 60 ribu ton MHP. Ekspor MHP ini berdampak langsung pada peningkatan nilai ekspor Malut yang selama ini mengandalkan hasil pengolahan bijih nikel menjadi besi nikel (ferronickel) melalui pabrik peleburan (smelter).
Stevi berharap dengan beroperasinya lini produksi kedua ini, ekonomi Malut akan terus meningkat dan juga berdampak pada neraca perdagangan Nasional yang semakin positif. Selain itu, penyerapan tenaga kerja juga semakin bertambah dan meningkatkan laju pertumbuhan ekonomi regional, baik Halsel maupun Malut.
HPL juga memiliki komitmen tinggi pada kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja serta lingkungan (K3L). Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nol kematian akibat kerja (Zero Fatality) selama masa konstruksi dan operasional pabrik. Di sisi lingkungan, Stevi Thomas menegaskan HPL selalu melakukan pemantauan berkala (sampling) guna memastikan operasional sesuai dengan AMDAL dan peraturan pemerintah yang berlaku.
Seperti diketahui, Perwakilan Bank Indonesia Malut dalam pertemuan tahunannya mengungkapkan bahwa industri hilirisasi di Malut mendominasi komoditas ekspor selama 2021 ini. Produk hilirisasi berupa feronikel dan nikel oksida memiliki porsi terbesar, dengan jumlah masing-masing 93,42 persen dan 4,60 persen. Angka tersebut menjadi salah satu faktor kunci pertumbuhan ekonomi Malut yang mencatatkan nilai positif.
“Provinsi Malut mencatatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi kedua terbesar di Indonesia pada triwulan III 2021, sebesar 11,41 persen. Angka tersebut berada di bawah Provinsi Papua dengan presentase 14,54 persen dan di atas Sulawesi Tengah 10,21 persen,” kata Deputi Kepala Perwakilan BI Malut, Hario Kartiko Pamungkas beberapa waktu lalu.
Hario juga menjelaskan bahwa capaian tersebut tak lepas dari perkembangan industri smelter dan pemurnian nikel di Halsel, yakni perusahaan yang tergabung dalam HARITA Nickel yang memproduksi feronikel dan MHP. Perusahaan ini berkontribusi meningkatkan perekonomian Provinsi Malut. (red)
