Peneliti Sebut Perairan dan Ikan di Ternate Tercemar Mikroplastik

Tim peneliti Samurai Malut sedang mengambil contoh air untuk diuji kadar mikroplastiknya, di Kampung Makassar, Kota Ternate.

PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Tim penelitian Samurai Maluku Utara berkolaborasi dengan tim Ekspedisi Sungai Nusantara (ESN), kembali menemukan bahwa perairan Kota Ternate telah terkontaminasi mikroplastik.

“Rata-rata kontaminasi mikroplastik di perairan Ternate adalah 173,75 partikel mikroplastik dalam 100 liter air,” jelas Tim Peneliti ESN, Prigi Arisandi kepada Nuansa Media Grup (NMG), Rabu (26/10).

Prigi menuturkan, pihaknya mengambil sampel air di empat lokasi, yakni di Kelurahan Dufa-dufa, Kampung Makassar, Soa-sio dan Ake Ga’ale Kelurahan Sangaji.

“Kadar mikroplastik yang terbanyak itu di pesisir Dufa-dufa yang dekat dengan Bandara Sultan Babullah, dengan partikel mikroplastik sebanyak 301 dalam 100 liter air,” ungkapnya.

Sedangkan lokasi yang paling sedikit kandungan mikroplastiknya adalah kampung Makassar, yakni sebesar 88 partikel dalam 100 liter air.

“Jenis mikroplastik yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah jenis fiber, sedangkan jenis lainnya yang ditemukan adalah fragmen, filamen dan foam,” tuturnya.

Selain itu, Direktur Eksekutif Institut Pemulihan dan Perlindungan Sungai ini menambahkan, berdasarkan penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa ikan-ikan karang di kepulauan Ternate telah terkontaminasi mikroplastik.

Ia bilang, penelitian yang diterbitkan Jordan Journal of Biological Sciences pada Desember 2021 ini mengambil sampel ikan di Kelurahan Kasturian, Kampung Makassar, Mangga Dua dan Kalumata. Pengambilan sampel tersebut dilakukan pada Agustus hingga September 2019.

“Ikan karang yang dijadikan sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 220 ekor, yakni kerapu macan 29 ekor, kerapu muara 36 ekor, kerapu lumpur 65 ekor, baronang lingkis 47 ekor, ikan batu 27 ekor dan ikan kakatua 16 ekor,” terangnya mengutip jurnal tersebut.

Hasil pengujian ini, lanjut dia, menunjukkan 183 dari 220 ekor ikan tersebut tercemar mikroplastik. Totalnya ada 594 partikel plastik ditemukan dalam sistem pencernaan ikan-ikan tersebut.

“Kandungan mikroplastik ini berupa 47,81 persen fragmen, 38,22 persen film, 2,69 persen foam, 2,36 persen fiber, 7,41 persen line dan 1,52 persen pellet,” tandasnya. (tan)
