PENA – DPD KNPI Maluku Utara angkat bicara terkait insiden kecelakaan yang menyebabkan satu karyawan PT IWIP Halmahera Tengah mengalami kecelakaan kerja. Satu karyawan asal Halmahera Selatan yang diketahui bernama Iksan Yahya mengalami luka bakar hingga patah tulang kaki kiri dan kanan pada insiden yang terjadi pada Sabtu (30/1) malam sekira pukul 23.00 Wit.
Sekretaris DPD KNPI Malut, M. Ardiyansyah mengatakan, PT IWIP harus bertanggung jawab penuh pada insiden itu. Walaupun, menurut pengakuan korban, dirinya baru bekerja selama sebulan. Apalagi insiden tersebut terjadi lantaran terjadi miskomunikasi antara tenaga kerja lokal dan tenaga kerja asing (TKA) asal Tiongkok.
“Kesalahan komunikasi bisa berbuntut sangat fatal seperti ini. Pihak IWIP harus bertanggung jawab. Dugaan kami, insiden tersebut bisa saja terjadi lantaran oknum TKA tersebut tidak paham bahasa Indonesia,” sebut Ardiyansyah, Senin (1/2).
Ardiyansyah menambahkan, sangat menghargai upaya PT IWIP yang telah memberikan pertolongan cepat dengan membawa korban ke RSUD Chasan Boesoeri. Akan tetapi, PT IWIP perlu mengevaluasi kinerja mereka di lapangan hingga insiden serupa tidak akan terjadi lagi.
“Keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja perlu diutamakan. Apakah atribut atau perlengkapan kerja telah sesuai dengan porsi atau tidak, ini perlu dijawab oleh IWIP. Apalagi korban mengalami luka yang parah seperti itu,” tanya Ardiyansyah.
Selain itu, lanjut Ardiyansyah, jika karyawan tersebut baru sebulan bekerja di PT IWIP, harusnya dia memiliki partner tenaga kerja lokal yang mahir dan mengerti tentang mesin. Bukannya dipasangkan dengan TKA.
“PT IWIP harus banyak mengevaluasi masalah ini. Lebih jauh, perlu terbuka ke publik atas seluruh permasalahan yang terjadi. Kami juga mendesak agar seluruh hak korban dipenuhi, termasuk kontrak kerjanya jangan sampai diputus,” tegas Ardiyansyah.
Ardiyansyah juga berharap, korban dapat mendapatkan pelayanan yang terbaik hingga dapat pulih dengan cepat dan kembali bekerja seperti sediakala. (*)
