PENA – Sebuah truck bermuatan full mengalami rem blong dan menghantam pengendara lain, tepat di perempatan trafick light, Kelurahan Jati, Kota Ternate. Peristiwa itu terjadi pada Selasa (16/2) sekira pukul 11.00 WIT.
Beruntung, tidak ada korban jiwa dalam peristiwa kecelakaan ini. Meski demikian, dua orang lainnya terpaksa dilarikan ke rumah sakit lantaran mengalami luka-luka.
Kecelakaan ini bermula ketika truck bernomor polisi DG 8345 AV itu dari arah timur menuju barat. Tepat di trafick light dengan kondisi jalan menurun, truck yang dikendarai Yosep itu mengalami rem blong. Tidak mau mengambil risiko, sopir truck lantas membelok ke arah kiri dan menghantam tiang listrik serta tiang lampu merah.
Sebelum menambrak kedua tiang itu, truck ini lebih dulu menghantam sebuah sepeda motor dan mobil kijang inova. Setelah menabrak tiang listrik, truck yang berisikan muatan cat kaleng dan ban sepeda motor itu terbalik dan menimpa sepeda motor MNX. Pengendara sepeda motor MNX dan orang yang diboncengi pun terpaksa dilarikan ke RSUD Chasan Boesorie untuk mendapatkan perawatan.
“Rem mobil itu blong, sehingga dari jaub sopir sudah teriak awas. Truck ini muatannya full, pas jalan menurun sehingga laju,” kata Rustam salah satu saksi yang ditemui di lokasi kejadian.
Sementara salah satu korban yang mengendarai mobil inova menuturkan bahwa dirinya sementara berjalan dari arah utara menuju selatan. Pada saat itu sudah lampu hijau dan dirinya berada di depan, ada sepeda motor yang ingin mendahuluinya. “Jadi saya kasih jalan, tiba-tiba truck melaju dari arah dara (timur, red) lalu menabrak sepeda motor yang sudah mendahului saya tadi,” ujarnya.
Berdasarkan amatan di lapangan, Satlantas Polres Ternate dan warga telah melakukan evakuasi terhadap kecelakaan lalulintas ini. Sopir truck juga telah diamankan ke Polres Ternate untuk dilakukan penanganan selanjutnya. (nda)
