Nilai Investasi Capai Triliunan Rupiah, PT FENI Haltim Tak Kunjung Beroperasi

PENA – Konsorsium Advokasi Tambang (KATAM) Maluku Utara, mempertanyakan kapan pabrik pengolahan nikel PT FENI di Halmahera Timur (Haltim) mulai beroperasi.

Hal ini dipertanyakan KATAM karena pabrik dari anak perusahaan PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) tersebut telah dibangun sejak tahun 2011 silam tapi hingga saat ini belum juga beroperasi.

Biaya pembangunan pabrik perusahaan milik negara ini juga sangat fantastis, yakni mencapai angka 1,6 miliar dollar AS atau sekitar Rp 3,5 triliun.

“Dalam penilaian kami, PT FENI cukup rapuh komitmennya dalam bergerak ke arah industri hilir yang memiliki nilai tambah,” ungkap Koordinator KATAM Maluku Utara, Muhlis Ibrahim, Senin (15/3).

Muhlis menambahkan, sebagai salah satu perusahaan milik negara yang bergerak pada pengelolaan sumber daya alam dan energi, seyogyanya PT FENI memberikan teladan yang baik kepada pihak perusahaan swasta yang juga bergerak dalam dunia pertambangan.

“Kami menduga, pabrik pengolahan PT FENI hanya formalitas untuk melegitimasi kegiatan pertambangan PT Antam yang berada di daerah Haltim. Dugaan ini tentu diperkuat dengan fakta pengangkutan ore (bijih) nikel yang diangkut setiap tahun ke Pomalaa, Sulawesi Tenggara,” jelas Muhlis.

Idealnya, lanjut Muhlis, ore itu dikelola di pabrik PT FENI. Jika tidak, maka muncul pertanyaan untuk apa membangun pabrik dengan nilai investasi 1,6 miliar dollar AS di Haltim, sedangkan setiap tahun nikel Haltim dibawah ke Pomalaa.

“Ini kan tidak logis. Disamping itu, janji PT Antam lewat Senior Vice President Corporate Secretary Kunto Hendrapawoko ditahun 2020 kemarin yang mengatakan bahwa PT FENI akan beroperasi di tahun ini (2020) ternyata tidak benar,” tandas Muhlis, sembari menambahkan bahwa pernyataan Kunto Hendraprawoko tersebut disampaikan melalui kontan.co.id tanggal 26 Januari 2020.

Atas hal itu, Muhlis mengingatkan Pemerintah Provinsi Maluku Utara wajib mengambil langkah tegas. Bahkan bila perlu menghentikan sementara aktivitas kegiatan penambangan sampai pabrik PT FENI benar-benar beroperasi. (*)
