Unkhair Gelar Pelatihan Budidaya Ikan Nila Sistem Bioflok di Danau Ngade

Suasana pelatihan budidaya ikan nila sistem biolfok di danau Ngade.

PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Dosen Universitas Khairun (Unkhair) Ternate menggelar sosialisasi dan pelatihan budidaya ikan nila sistem biolfok kepada pembudidaya ikan di area Danau Ngade, Kecamatan Ternate Selatan.

Dosen yang terlibat dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah Dr. Waode Munaeni dan Dr. Muhammad Aris. Kemudian, kegiatan ini telah dilakukan sejak Juni hingga Oktober 2022.

Menurut Waode Munaeni, selaku ketua mengemukakan bahwa kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membantu menyelesaikan masalah yang dialami oleh pembudidaya ikan di Danau Ngade yang membudidayakan ikan nila dengan keramba jaring apung (KJA).

ā€œKegiatan yang dilakukan tidak hanya memperkenalkan budidaya sistem bioflok, tetapi pembudidaya dipandu langsung terkait bahan dan alat apa saja yang dibutuhkan, bagaimana cara membuat bioflok dan bagaimana memanajemen flok yang telah terbentuk serta manajemen pemberian pakan ikan, sehingga mampu memberikan pertumbuhan yang maksimal,” jelas Waode kepada Nuansa Media Grup (NMG), Jumat (28/10).

Menurutnya, beberapa permasalahan yang didapatkan dari hasil wawancara dengan pembudidaya adalah seperti tingginya biaya pakan yang digunakan, kematian massal terutama pada musim hujan sehingga menyebabkan rendahnya produksi.

Selain itu, pihaknya juga melihat areal di sekitar danau tersebut yang merupakan milik pembudidaya tidak termanfaatkan dengan baik.

ā€œKarena itu, solusi dari masalah ini adalah menerapkan inovasi budidaya sistem bioflok. Sistem bioflok ini mampu menekan biaya pakan hingga 50 persen, karena flok yang terbentuk dapat dikonsumsi oleh ikan,” katanya menyarankan.

Ia menambahkan, budidaya ikan sistem bioflok ini tidak ada pergantian air selama pemeliharaan, sehingga pertumbuhan ikan lebih cepat dan kelangsungan hidup ikan juga lebih tinggi.

“Alat dan bahan yang digunakan untuk budidaya dengan sistem bioflok ini juga tersedia di Kota Ternate, sehingga dengan adanya kegiatan ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan produksi ikan nila di Maluku Utara khususnya di Kota Ternate,” tutupnya. (tan)
