PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Kepala Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan Kota Ternate, Thamrin Marsaoly, dipercayakan oleh Pengurus Provinsi (Pengprov) Persatuan Olahraga Dayung Seluruh Indonesia (PODSI) Maluku Utara untuk membentuk struktur Pengurus Kota (Pengkot) PODSI Ternate.
Keputusan itu setelah PODSI Malut menerbitkan surat mandat dengan nomor: 04/PODSI-MU/XII/2021 tentang penanggungjawab pembentukan Pengkot PODSI Ternate yang diberikan kepada Thamrin Marsaoly tertanggal 21 Desember 2021.
Thamrin langsung menerima mandat tersebut, Rabu (22/12) siang tadi, di Kantor DKP Ternate, Kelurahan Dufa-dufa, Kecamatan Ternate Utara, Kota Ternate. Penyerahan mandat diberikan langsung oleh Wakil Ketua II PODSI Malut, Irman Saleh didampingi salah satu Ketua Bidang Rais D. H. Yusuf.
Thamrin mengatakan, gaung tentang olahraga dayung sangat penting untuk segera disuarakan, karena dia melihat berbagai event dayung yang diselenggarakan di berbagai provinsi sangat banyak antusias dari masyarakat.
Dia menambahkan, Pemkot Ternate melalui DKP sendiri telah merencanakan bakal menggelar event lomba dayung tingkat provinsi. Kegiatan tersebut direncanakan pada April 2022 mendatang.
āKebanyakan event dayung dilangsungkan di tempat seperti danau, tapi kalau di Ternate yang dikenal sebagai daerah maritim, event ini harus dilangsungkan di laut yang menjadi ciri khas Ternate sebagai kota pantai,ā kata Thamrin.
Sebagai mandataris yang dipercayakan PODSI Maluku Utara, Thamrin menjanjikan event lomba dayung yang direncakan tersebut harus terlaksana dan berlangsung meriah oleh antusiasme masyarakat.
āEvent seperti ini penting, karena dengan begitu perekenomian masyarakat juga dapat terbangun, dan yang paling penting akan ada banyak atlet-atlet potensial yang muncul ke permukaan,ā jelasnya.
Dengan event tersebut Thamrin juga berharap atlet yang hadir dapat membawa kota Ternate untuk tembus ke event nasional hingga mengharumkan nama Ternate. (kep)
