PENA – Program tol laut yang dicanangkan Presiden Joko Widodo pada tahun 2015 silam belum dimanfaatkan sepenuhnya oleh para pelaku usaha lokal di Maluku Utara. Ini terbukti dari hasil evaluasi yang dilakukan pihak penyelenggara angkutan barang laut/tol laut, terdapat banyaknya kontainer tidak terisi saat kapal tol laut balik ke pangkalan Tanjung Perak, Surabaya, Jawa Timur.
Padahal, biaya angkutan tol laut ini relatif murah dibandingkan dengab kapal kargo. “Sayangkan, jika tidak dimanfaatkan pelaku usaha lokal untuk menggenjot produk olahan UKM atau hasil pertanian dan perikanan untuk di jual ke Surabaya,” kata Kepala Dinas Perhubungan Provinsi Malut, Armin Zakaria.
Menurutnya, adanya tol laut ini, harga dan keuntungan yang diperoleh petani dan pelaku usaha lebih kompetitif. Perbedaan biaya angkut barang logistik ke Surabaya selisihnya mencapai 50 persen antara tol laut dengan kapal kargo. Oleh karena itu, mantan Kepala Biro Humas Pemprov Malut ini mengajak para pelaku usaha lokal agar memanfaatkan program tol laut ini.
Armin juga mengajak organisasi perangkat daerah (OPD) yang menangani sektor industri, perdagangan, kelautan, dan perikanan, serta OPD yang memiliki program pembinaan kelompok tani agar bersinergi memasarkan hasil produksi ke Surabaya dengan memanfaatkan tol laut. “Saya berharap Dinas Perindag yang menjadi leading sektor, agar mengumpulkan semua produk hasil olahan pelaku usaha lokal di suatu tempat, kemudian dikirim secara bersama ke Surabaya menggunakan tol laut,” harapnya.
Ia bilang, tol laut ini menghubungkan sejumlah pelabuhan yang ada di kabupaten/kota di Malut, dengan waktu durasi selama 15 hari bongkar muat barang. Sehingga itu, peluang ini harus dimanfaatkan secara baik untuk kesejahteraan masyarakat, terutama para pelaku usaha lokal.
