PENAMALUT.COM, TERNATE – Ribuan mahasiswa di Kota Ternate kembali melakukan aksi unjuk rasa menolak kenaikan harga bahan bakar minyak (BBM), Senin (18/4).
Aksi tersebut berlangsung di depan Kampus I Unkhair dan depan Kantor Wali Kota Ternate. Aksi ini berlangsung cukup tegang antara massa dan pihak kepolisian lantaran massa aksi memblokade jalan menuju Bandara Baabullah.
Amatan awartawan Nuansa Media Grup (NMG) di lapangan, terjadi saling lempar menggunakan batu antara massa aksi dan polisi. Terlihat sesekali pihak kepolisian dari Polda Malut terpaksa menembakan gas air mata, bahkan dua unit water canon diarahkan ke massa aksi untuk membubarkan aksi tersebut.
Akibat aksi ini, sejumlah pendemo terpaka diamankan pihak kepolisian. Sejumlah kendaraan roda dua yang terparkir di badan jalan tersebut juga dirusaki.
Sementara itu, aksi yang berlangsung di depan pintu masuk Kantor Wali Kota Ternate dijaga ketat aparat kemanan. Bahkan kawat berduri sepanjang ratusan meter teepasang di lokasi tersebut untuk menghalau massa aksi.
Sebanyak 550 personel dari Polres Ternate dikerahkan untuk mengamankan aksi unjuk rasa di depan kantor Wali Kota Ternate.
Koordinator aksi, Sumit Robo menyampaikan bahwa pihaknya mendesak pemerintah untuk menurunkan harga bahan bakar minyak (BBM) dan sejumlah bahan pokok (Bapok) lainnya. Pihaknya juga mengecam tindakan diskriminasi, pembungkaman terhadap ruang hidup demokrasi.
“Tapi aksi kita ini tidak terlepas dari tuntutan nasional, yakni turunkan harga BBM,” ujarnya.
Kabid Humas Polda Malut, Kombes Pol Michael Irwan Tamsil, di sela-sela massa aksi kepada wartawan menyampaikan, pihaknya mengharapkan agar mahasiswa menyampaikan aspirasi di depan umum sesuai dengan undang-undang tanpa harus anarkis.
Ia mengungkapkan, selama pengawalan telah diamankan satu orang mahasiswa dan bakal dilakukan pemeriksaan atau pendalaman bukti-bukti dan fakta-fakta yang terjadi di lapangan.
“Ini nanti kita lihat vedeo serta gambar-gambar yang terekam, apa yang dilakukannya,” tuturnya
Michael menegaskan, apabila dalam penelurusan dan kemudian yang bersangkutan terbukti melakukan tindak pidana, maka akan diproses sesuai dengan undang-undang.
“Kita lihat dulu sesuai bukti-bukti. Kalau dia terlibat, pasti kita tindak sesuai aturan yang berlaku” tegasnya. (tim/ask)
